Emergency Alert Systems (short film research)

Emergency Alert Systems (aka EAS) are a service used by governments around the world to rapidly deliver emergency alerts to citizens through television, personal computers and many other devices. We are utilising an EAS warning in our short film to deliver the news that the main protagonists (played by the dynamic duo Sebastian Bignell and Jacob Lees) will have to remain silent in order to survive the events that will play out.
EAS alerts tend to have a voice that reads out the information, that's why we chose the unparalleled Ben Black to deliver the news. We will play the EAS through a CRT TV when the protagonists wake up after something big happens in their world.
Since the film takes place in the mid 90s, we will utilise the BBC 1997 branding style for the emergency screen. This also works as we are using the colour red throughout the film to signify danger, and the branding that BBC One used during this time period was very strongly red-coloured, as seen below:
